Application Process

FDIS is now receiving applications of  Elementary school , Middle School and High School.

Please follow all of the directions provided on the application. Applications will not be considered unless they are complete.

1，Please finish the online application form first.

2，Then the Admissions office will contact you via email  in one week for the next step( The materials will be different for different families， Please follow the instruction of the email).

3，The materials to be submitted before the Deadline(will be informed by admissions office.Not the online application deadline)  .

4,  Entrance Exam for students.

5, Interview for family.

Applicants need to be informed of the following issues:

1. Fudan International School can help with student visas only if the student’s age is 18 or above.

2. If there are no spaces left at FDIS, students will be put on the waiting list.

1. Admissions Policy

Applicants should meet one of the requirements below: 

1.1 Students whose father or mother holds a foreign passport with the resident permit issued by Shanghai or a permanent residence card issued by the Ministry of Public Security. 

1.2. Students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of China or students whose father/mother from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of China (Parents need to provide documents showing that they are working or living in Shanghai）

1.3. Students with foreign passports with a residence permit issued by Shanghai or a permanent residence card issued by the Ministry of Public Security (Parents need to provide documents showing that they are working or living in Shanghai)

1.4. Students who were born overseas (both parents hold the Chinese passports without permanent residence from other countries, and the child holding the foreign passport without visa issued by China does not meet the admissions policy.);

* ‘People's Republic of China Travel Document’（旅行證） and ‘People's Republic of China Exit and Entry permit’（通行證）are not considered as visas.

Elementary School (ES): Grade 1, Grade 3 and Grade 4  

Middle School (MS): Grade 6, Grade 7 and Grade 8

High School (HS): Grade 9

The seats in each grade are limited

Online application deadline: 9 a.m. November 14, 2023

Entrance exam date: December 9, 2023

3. Application Process

3.1. Submit the online application form.

Find the ‘Application Entry 申請(qǐng)通道’ on the homepage of the official website.

3.2. Admissions office will contact you for the application materials via mail in one week, please follow the instruction by Admissions Office.

3.3. Submit the document (hardcopies) before the deadline provided by Admissions Office. (Application materials reviewed and confirmed on Thursdays and Fridays only excluding holidays.)

3.4 Entrance Exams for ES (Chinese, Math and English)

Entrance Exams for MS and HS (Chinese and Math. For English, the applicant is required to submit DET(多鄰國英語測(cè)試), TOEFL or IELTS scores within the past six months)

* Math test papers are in English

The following are our minimum requirements for English proficiency.

3.5. Family interview. Interview languages are English and Chinese.

3.6 FDIS makes the decision and the Admissions Office informs families via email or phone call.
